There are a few principles we hold dear that form the foundation of how we run our Salons:
1

Not for Profit

Our Salons are not designed for profit; any potential revenue from ticket sales is reinvested into hosting future events. If our ticket prices exceed your budget for any reason, please email us, and we will accommodate you.
2

Conversation over Presentation

You will not find screen-supported keynotes at our Salons. We believe in the power of stories to spark conversations that bring genuine depth and relevance. Joining us means becoming a participant in the conversation. This value informs our style of facilitation.
3

Chatham House Rule… or discretion if you will

The best conversations are those that create a safe space for participants to open up. While we are not overly formal about the Chatham House Rule, we consider it a helpful guideline for maintaining genuine relevance during our gatherings.

Chatham House Rule

4

Gathering locally, thinking planetary

Our chosen language is English regardless of the Salon’s location (unless everyone in the room shares the same native language). We aim to broaden perspectives beyond the local, making it an inclusive choice to engage with the international community.
5

The Cheese Rule

If you join us for one of our Salons, you’ll be asked to bring a piece of cheese to share. This ritual has been a core tradition since the very beginning of our series.
Please do us a little favour:

JOIN US, BRING SOME CHEESE… (and let us take care of everything else).

Hospitality promotes community — community promotes learning. This is why we commit to being wonderful hosts. And this is also why we want to kindly ask you for a favour.

We would love to see the diverse flavours of all our perspectives, personalities and thoughts mirrored in our selection of food. May we kindly ask you to bring cheese of your choice to our next CLS event. We are looking forward to welcoming you and we are curious to find out what you will contribute.

P.S.: In case you haven’t found your go to cheese shop yet, we gathered a small selection of choices below. One of them is literally around the corner of our CLS home (if you prefer last minute decisions).
